Continuing Education Fund (CEF)

CEF Funding Features:

  • Individually
  • If the Continuing Education Fund has not been used:
    80% of the first HKD10,000 government subsidy, employers only need to pay 20% of the tuition;
    Afterwards, HKD 15,000 government subsidizes 60%, and employers only need to pay 40% of the tuition fees.
  • Must enroll in CEF-approved and approved courses

Apply for CEF requirements:

  • The employee is a permanent resident of Hong Kong
  • Entry requirements for QF Level 4:
    (1) Hold a Higher Diploma / Associate Degree (QF Level 4) or higher qualification; or
    (2) Five subjects at Level 2 (including English) or equivalent (e.g. Diploma Yi Jin) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, with two years of working experience; or
    (3) Pass four subjects (including English) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination or equivalent, and have two years of working experience; or
    (4) Hold a Certificate in Marketing, Business or a related discipline (QF Level 3) with five years of relevant work experience; or
    (5) Special admission requirements: pass the language proficiency and computer operation skills test, and pass the interview.

Funding Grant Conditions:

  • Attendance rate: 70% of total class hours
  • Homework and examinations must be passed, 50% of the overall score
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • Submit the application within one year after successful completion of the program
    (Note: within one year based on the date of successful completion of the course or the test date of the designated language benchmark test, whichever is later)
